Students learn traditional Lingít foodways through the seasons and are preparing for hooligan and red seaweed harvesting. Volunteers, Tommy and Sandrine Thompson are growing mushrooms with the students to introduce the idea of sustainable food production.
Cory Grant, our Lingít teacher, provides daily Lingít language lessons and, along with Justina Hotch, a weekly cultural program with elders and community leaders. We are grateful to learn from Kaagwaantaan elder Joe Hotch every week.
